Graphite, Charcoal and Pastel

Drawing and sketching are some of my favourite pastimes. The intense concentration, coupled with complete relaxation cannot really be matched by any other activity. It is like a meditation, time and space disappear and one becomes completely absorbed. The simplest item can become immersively complicated. Each drawing medium has it’s own attraction: the immediacy and delicacy of charcoal, the technical precision of pencil and the layering and depth that can be achieved with pastel.
